Dr. Don Melady awarded prestigious grant for his work on optimizing care for older adults in the Emergency Department
Congratulations Dr. Don Melady, a physician at the Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Centre, researcher at the Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Medicine Institute, and Geriatric ED leader, for being granted prestigious funding from the U.S-based John A. Hartford Foundation and West Health Institute. The over $4 million grant will support the Geriatric ED Collaborative, an interdisciplinary American and Canadian group, which focuses on quality improvement to optimize care for older adults in EDs across North America. Dr. Melady is one of the few emergency physicians in Canada focusing on Geriatric Emergency Medicine. Read more about Dr. Melady's grant here.
